Das RKI weist indirekt auf das Problem der asymptomatischen Übertragung hin:

Mehrere Studien deuten darauf hin, dass eine erfolgreiche Virusanzucht aus Patientenmaterial mit der Höhe der SARS-CoV-2-RNA-Last im Untersuchungsmaterial korreliert (Perera et al., 2020; van Beek et al., 2020; Wolfel et al., 2020), sofern dies nach Symptombeginn entnommen wurde.

Studien

All samples were collected from individuals who reported no symptoms associated with COVID-19 on the day of collection. [..]Regardless of symptomatic status, approximately 50% of individuals who test positive for SARS-CoV-2 seem to be in non-infectious phases of the disease

— Just 2% of SARS-CoV-2-positive individuals carry 90% of the virus circulating in communities

Aus diesem Zitat vom Abstract der Studie bleibt unklar ist, ob die Studie die asymptomatischen Fälle von den pre- und postsymptomatischen Fällen unterscheidet.
